The Mediated Construction of Reality

Abstract

In this lecture, Nick Couldry will present some of the core arguments discussed in his most recent book, The Mediated Construction of Reality (Polity Books, 2017), and elaborate on the implications these arguments have on social theory – especially in relation to stability/instability of social orders.

Biography

Nick Couldry, professor of media, communications and social theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, is one of the leading sociologists interested in media and communications, culture and power, and social theory.
